The Orchard is open Mondays to Fridays and we welcome all children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.

As a full member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance we believe in the concept of ‘learning through play’. We offer a safe, stimulating and creative environment and some of the many activities include: story time with discussion, singing and nursery rhymes, role-play, craftwork, cooking, sand and water play, construction, outdoor play and, on occasions, well-supervised country walks. We also operate a library scheme to encourage the enjoyment of books at home. We have a computer on hand which we encourage keyboard and mouse skills as well as running pre-school educational CD-ROMs.

To ensure a smooth and happy transition from The Orchard into school, we maintain strong links with the reception teachers at the local schools.
